Localstars Self Serve
24 June 2010
Localstars today announced the launch of their new self-service portal for online publications. Eagerly awaited by many publishers, the portal is designed to make online advertising quick, easy and accessible to any business with any budget.
‘Localstars is a forward-thinking company which has always tried to anticipate the needs of its customers and create appropriate technology to meet those needs. This new addition to our already rapidly expanding suite of products continues in that vein,’ said David Bandtock, Localstars’ Chief Technical Officer. ‘With this new product, we are bringing advertisers closer to larger potential markets without salesmen or agents involved. A small businessman having control over his online presence and impact within an affordable budget is now possible, at a fraction of the cost of an advertising agency.’
The portal is designed to be easy to use and its makers claim it is possible to make a video advert in under a minute. Advertisers choose industry-related footage from Localstars’ extensive library and add their own text and company logos to create a 15 second video advert which can then be placed into a campaign designed to reach the largest possible audience. Prices vary, but start at just £30, making online advertising affordable and accessible for all small to medium sized businesses.
For publishers as well, there are benefits, not least of which is that the new self-service portal will enable them to begin to claw back some of the ever-growing revenues available from recent years’ booms in online search-based advertising. Affordable pricing means that publishers can expect a rise in advertising sales from smaller businesses with more modest budgets.
